I build small, useful web tools on my own, and PaperStamp is the latest one. I kept running into the same problem: I'd need to merge two PDFs, or pull a few pages out of a contract, or knock a watermark onto a document before sending it somewhere — small jobs that shouldn't require installing software or emailing a file to some website and hoping it deletes it afterward.
Most of the PDF tool sites I'd used worked fine, but they all worked the same way: you upload your file to their server, their server does the work, and you download the result. That's a reasonable way to build these tools, but it means your document — which might be a lease, an ID scan, or a client invoice — physically travels to a computer you don't control before you get it back.
PaperStamp doesn't do that. Every tool on this site is built with JavaScript libraries that run inside your own browser tab — the same way a color-picker or a unit converter runs entirely on your device. When you drop a file into one of these tools, it's read directly by your browser's memory, processed there, and handed back to you as a download. It never travels anywhere in between. I didn't build a privacy policy promise around this; I built the tools so there was nothing to promise.
Mostly people doing ordinary paperwork: students assembling a PDF from scanned pages, freelancers merging an invoice with a contract before sending it to a client, anyone who needs a quick page removed or rotated without opening a full desktop PDF editor. It's not a substitute for professional document software when you need pixel-perfect formatting — the Word and PDF conversion tools here are upfront about extracting text rather than rebuilding a layout, because that's what's honestly achievable running in a browser. I'd rather a tool tell you its limits than quietly hand back a mangled file.
I maintain PaperStamp myself alongside a few other small projects. If something breaks, or a tool doesn't handle a file the way it should, I'd genuinely like to know — the contact page goes to me directly, not a support queue.
